Funky nightspot in Berwick. . .

I have lived around this suburb for some time now, I am in my mid twenties, and I know of heaps and heaps and heaps of people who wish and hope that soon they will be saved from relentless endeavours into Melbourne’s inner suburbs to enjoy a really good night out.

I am refering to the lack any kind of funky bar in Berwick aimed at the over eighteens’ and under thirties age group.. yes, it’s true.

We need something around here to get happenning! There is an abundance of local musicians and interesting folks who would benefit greatly from something more culturally stimulating in Berwick than a conservative pub or resturant bar. I have watched so many people I know move out of this area to be closer to some kind of stimulating and more diverse nightlife scene. I think that’s kind of disappointing considering that Casey has the largest population of young people in Australia. When will the local proprieters’ catch onto this reality and use it - both to their own advantage and the community’s?

You know it my fellow people… don’t ya?

Good films for hangovers?

I would be interested in hearing some recommendations for films which are good on a hangover?

This I imagine, would not include really heavy films (which I usually love) - and I would be more keen on hearing some suggestions on films which are more light hearted, inspiring and feel good.

When you’re feeling that average - something that is not depressing or negative is probably required!!

Wilson Botanic Park

For those locals to the Berwick area of Melbourne - do not forget about Wilson Botanic Park. I must admit - I hadn’t visited the place for a couple of years - and I have lived within the general area for coming on seventeen years now.. it’s so lovely there!

I was delighted to see so many long necked turtles in the lakes there, as well as other interesting diving birds such as cormorants and herrons. I feel really grateful to be so close to such a place where I feel an escape from the suburban rooftops. Nearly all of the gardens are labelled with details of both native and introduced species providing an educational opportunity for children and adults. Life gets so busy that I had forgotten about this special place, right under my nose. At the moment I walk my dog there nearly every day.. and I hope to have a bit of a little party there soon with my buddies just to celebrate and enjoy summer days.

Hi folks,

I’m on the look out for a theatre group or the likes for adults in the south east suburbs? I have studied Drama for a couple of years at Uni and have an interest in developing short plays, etc. with others.. including all aspects of theatre (acting, directing, writing, tech, etc.)Please let me know of anything similar to this happenning or I may just have to start my own group…

I like political debate, history, sociology, art and documentaries. I enjoy hanging out in the garden with my buddy the blue heeler x. and dreaming of film making. I am a student, and my favourite dude is Chomsky. If you don't know who he is, you should find out. I love Raphael Nadal, and you can see that I am very balanced in my interests! I love food, in particular oats with yogurt and fruit, any type of vegetable and toasted sandwiches, of course with cheese. I prefer dark chocolate. When I dance with my best friend, I feel free.
